    What are Skills Bootcamps?

Until 2028, The Government has committed to invest £1.5 billion on Skills Bootcamps under the Skills for Life scheme through the Department for Education.

Skills Bootcamps are aimed at employers looking to provide their employees with the next step in their careers through the enhancement or development of new skills. These bootcamps aim to ensure that delegates will be able to undertake additional responsibilities, and open them up to future job roles and opportunities.

Skills Bootcamps offer access to funded, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks to build sector-specific skills, enabling career progression on a chosen pathway. The learner can benefit from a minimum of 60 Guided Learning Hours to ensure they get the best out of their course.

    What can they offer you?

A motivated and skilled workforce can ensure your business can remain resilient in an ever-evolving job market. Benefits to your business include enhanced productivity in the workplace, by inspiring learners to acquire new skills; offer innovating ideas and provide fresh perspectives. Not only does it strengthen your workforce, as an employer you may also receive funding for the Bootcamp as outlined below.

    Certification

HSS Training currently offer two Skills Bootcamp options. Learners undertaking either of these bootcamps will receive full in-depth training in Site Safety Supervision/Management, Work at Height, Confined Spaces and First Aid. Full certification will be provided upon completion by CITB, The Ladder Association, PASMA and City & Guilds.

If you are looking to purchase a Skills Bootcamp through HSS, it is important to know that...

To be eligible for funding, the employer must be registered in England, and the learner must be completing most works in England. The learner must also be aged 19+ and can only undertake one Skills Bootcamp per year.

Employers will benefit from the Skills for Life scheme which funds up to 90% of the course, depending on the size of the company.

HSS currently offer two Skills Bootcamps, as outlined below. Please click the images for more information:

    Site Manager

This Skills Bootcamp will serve Site Managers in training, to ensure that they are competent to industry standards to carry out operational duties on site, and ensure optimal safety for themselves and the staff they manage.

    Site Supervisor

This Skills Bootcamp will ensure that new Site Supervisors attain the appropriate skills and are trained to industry standards to complete daily tasks and ensure the safety of themselves and the staff onsite.
