    This course aims to provide delegates who have responsibility for supervising temporary works with an understanding of their duties and the roles of others.

    The course has the support of a number of organisations: Temporary Works Forum, CECA, UKCG, HSE and FMB. The support of these organisations offers transferability of the course within industry.

    This remote learning and examination option for the CITB - Temporary Works Supervisor course has been created to allow delegates to gain and develop the required knowledge outside of the classroom.

    Microsoft Teams MUST be installed beforehand to ensure you can participate successfully.

    The training and examination for this course will be delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams, but will follow the same curriculum as the classroom CITB - Temporary Works Supervisor course and the same standard of training will be delivered, meeting all Scheme Rules.

    This Course Allows the Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) to:

    • Understand the need for and duties of, a Temporary Works Supervisor
    • Understand the role of others
    • Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS5975 in respect of this role

    Managers and any delegates who work with contractors involved with the planning, procurement and management of temporary works, including those who may undertake a Temporary Works Supervisor role.

    Virtual Classroom

    This course will be delivered via video conferencing using Microsoft Teams Virtual Classroom. This allows two-way communication, ensuring the course is interactive with delegates having the opportunity to ask questions. Each delegate in attendance must have a webcam and microphone, to provide evidence of identity and the ability to answer all examination questions.     Assessment

    The examination paper consists of 25 multiple-choice questions selected by CITB.

    The examination pass mark is 72%. The examination lasts for 30 minutes and delegates are permitted to use the provided CITB publication during the exam.


    Certification

    Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a CITB Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course (TWSTC) certificate valid for five years.

    Please note, CITB no longer produce physical certificates, all certificates are produced digitally and sent to the booker of the course within 28 working days of the end of the course.

    Note:

    This course is not a temporary works awareness course. It is only concerned with the process of the supervision of temporary works, commonly expressed through the role of the Temporary Works Supervisor. Attendance does not confer competency as a Temporary Works Supervisor; this comes from a mixture of education, training and experience and should be judged by an appropriate senior individual.
